Healthy Without Lost

In the health world there & continue to show a variety of information to mislead the public for a long time, for example, various myths. With the development of technology, a variety of misleading information is more easily spread. One of the most widely used medium is the internet & television, which is part of a modern lifestyle.

Many of us are confused as to why many people want to make or disseminate misleading information. Of course this does not just happen without purpose. Some goals are most commonly found fame, financial gain, the spread of lifestyle / personal beliefs / religion, or apply a 'terrorist mind' that is spreading fear in society.

Scientists who want popular, support the sales of a product with a shortcut, or support a lifestyle / religious traditions, can issue a variety of controversial statements that are not supported by scientific evidence, it is commonly called 'pseudoscience' (pseudo-scientific.) There are also those who know little about the science of nutrition, and wanted to sell books and get more profit, in droves published a book about a diet called the 'healthy' or to lose weight quickly & safely who have never been studied scientifically. This is called 'fad diets' (fad diets). Various parties, including doctors make treatment is not proven scientifically, this is usually called "health fraud / quackery '(health fraud or quackery.)

Communities like pseudoscience, fad diets, or health fraud because it's interesting, let alone so well packed by marketers to increase sales of books, products, or lifestyle that supported / opposed. Moreover, people believe in these things because of lack of knowledge in the fields of health, although the level of public education continues to grow tall, so consider all information considered reasonable to believe & forwarded to someone else. One other factor these things are like modern society offers 'shortcuts' for various health problems.

Those things are there a lot of our daily lives, ranging from supplement products, herbal, food, drug / diet, health equipment, health MLM, up to a variety of popular health books. Some of us would be familiar with a variety of diet products that promise to lose weight quickly but safely. Or supplements / herbs that are considered 'magic potion' complete nutrition and can help treat all diseases.

With so many things that are classified as fraud, deceit, or deception, of course it raises a variety of suspicion to fear. One way to avoid this is to recognize the characteristics of things that are negative. Here we see its properties:

  • Promising to treat various / all diseases, complete with testimony from its users a 'successful'
  • Scientific evidence is not obtained from the various testimonies, but from research done by the scientific method and use of statistics. In addition, the desire to get a substance that can cure every disease is the dream of treatment in the past, but in this modern era it has been abandoned because it is not rational.
  • Can you lose weight fast & safe within
  • Many who want to lose weight quickly without much effort, such as exercise or eating less, but enough to follow a program or using drugs. It is not rational because the key to losing weight is to cut calories and increase its use consistently, even this takes time, can not instantaneously. Some drugs for weight loss is more reduced amount of fluid in the body and lead to dehydration (lack of fluids) to kidney damage.
  • A supplement 'super' to meet all the nutritional needs of the body
  • For those who belong to voters in a meal or are too busy to eat healthily, supplements are considered reasonable solution to meet the nutritional needs of the body. However this is not rational, because any supplements can not replace a balanced diet, complete, and varies for meeting nutritional needs.
  • Raw foods / supplements have no side effects even if used in excess
  • As we know, that what is excessive is not good. It is a lie when mentioned a thing be consumed excessive because it was considered safe or no side effects. All foods / supplements would have any side effects if used in excess.
  • Material herbal / natural does not have side effects
  • Current trend of herbal use increased, with claims that safer, including when to use excessive, than the 'chemical medicine' that has many side effects. This is not true because all the herbal ingredients definitely have side effects, ranging from mild to deadly. In fact, many herbs have not been studied so that its security is not recommended for use.
  • Certain foods are not suitable for human
  • Milk, meat, and eggs most often referred to as a food ingredient which is said to some as not food for humans. Of course this is not true because the three food has been consumed by humans since ancient times and there was no scientific literature that opposed him. Nutrient content of all three ingredients are proven to be useful food for humans, ranging from protein and various vitamins / minerals, but of course must be consumed in reasonable & combined with other food ingredients.
  • Latest Technology more secure / accurate / effective
  • With so massive research around the world, making very many new discoveries generated. Of course the study will cost quite a bit of what makes donors should try to return all those costs. This makes many products marketed either in bulk or in the doctor as soon as possible without further research for safety, accuracy, quality, or effectiveness.

The characteristics above are just few of the many negative things that many in the medical world. In order to avoid these things, here's how:

1. Indirect trust information received, although labeled 'proven' recipes 'heritage', or is said to be supported by institutions / literature trusted. Good idea to check the evidence is whether scientific or was it the institution / literature is meant release of such information?
2. Beware if the information is given with the aim to promote / sell a product / service or disseminate understanding / specific religion. Try searching for information from other sources, even better if the parties objectively and scientifically.
3. Or herbal supplements may not claim to be able to treat a disease or free of side effects. Legislation in many countries prohibit such claims. So if you find such claims, may be reported to the police as a fraud.
4. Do not be easily convinced by the statement that contains a lot of words that seem difficult to understand scientifically. Well find out in advance what the meaning of these words, because usually it is the wrong words are used or not known in the scientific world.
5. Using products that are already widely sold by many similar products that can be compared in terms of quality & price, not the products sold exclusively by the store or special marketing channels.
6. Ask as much as possible, as in those who know more about that field (physician / scientist who is known personally) or who have never used it.
7. Always check the licensing of products / services. Make sure that only the use of products / services that actually got permission from the government. Many of the products / services or entry permits falsify unofficially so unknown safety and effectiveness.
8. Sophisticated does not mean better & do not make themselves as a place to experiment. The longer a product / service is used, the more information about the effectiveness and safety of these products.
9. Never believe a product is 'magic' is said to cure a disease that clearly can not be treated scientifically nor can cure all diseases.
By act wisely, we can always be healthy without getting lost.
