Prepare a version of Microsoft Windows for Tablet
Sow annual exhibition Consumer Electronics (CES) next month in the U.S. is expected to become a means of warfare which are now popular tablet. Microsoft was rumored to be a bombshell by announcing the latest version of Windows specifically designed for tablet devices.
The plan was revealed by the Bloomberg web site and the Wall Street Journal on Wednesday (12/22/2010) yesterday. The operating system also will support devices that work with ARM processor.
Previously, Microsoft already has a version of Windows that works in artificial ARM processor that is Windows CE, but this software has been a long time age.
The latest generation of Windows CE in question is likely the version that is named Windows Embedded Compact 7. In June, Microsoft had revealed that the launch of the operating system intended for the set top box and slate (tablet), it will be done early 2011.
Microsoft has not been answered on this speculation. No confirmation whether, operating systems are prepared for yablet is an instance of Windows 7 or completely new operating system. To be sure, in July 2010, Microsoft has signed a license with ARM. In fact, Microsoft is allowed to design ARM-based chips such as Apple's A4 chip designed for the iPad.
Platform ARM chip is known for energy efficient making it ideal for handheld and mobile devices that depend on battery life. Vendor smartphones and tablets are now many are using it, including Apple. by:kompas(PCWorld)
