SEO for PDF

SEO for PDF means that the business create a PDF document files (Portable Document Format), which we uploaded on the Internet gets high rankings on search engines (SEO = Search Engine Optimization).

Suppose we have a PDF document or other form of ebook, using SEO techniques to PDF, PDF files will appear on the first page of search engines (Google, Yahoo, et al) for the appropriate keyword.

How do I? Actually, SEO techniques to PDF is not much different SEO techniques to ordinary web pages, but usually this is not done the owner of the web, because they focus on SEO for their web pages, rather than to its PDF file. For just a flashback, here's two SEO techniques to ordinary web pages that also apply to PDF:

1. Focus on quality content and keywords or keyword. 2. Expand the link to that page. As an illustration, this is a screenshot image Google.co.id on 28-11-2008 for keywords calendar 2009. Apparently a PDF file of the contents of this blog get ranked first calendar 2009 and an article that contains a PDF file was rated third.

Some things to consider in the SEO for PDF is: 1. PDF files have pagerank. Pagerank is a measure of the popularity of a web page created by Google that its value depends on the number of links pointing to web pages. Apparently, a PDF file also has a pagerank, for example, calendar 2009 as a PDF file has a PR = 1.

2. PDF file size determines whether or not the file indexed by Google. My PDF file that contains the calendar 2009 with a size of 653 KB up to now there has been indexed by Google. Thus it can be predicted that Google liked the small size of PDF files.

3. Google can index PDF files protected "password to modify". File calendar 2009 that I made this is a password-protected PDF files to be opened but can not be edited, and it turns out Google can index the file. For PDF files that are not protected, obviously Google and other search engines can index it.

4. PDF file name will be the URL of the PDF, so choose a name that reflects the contents of such document or keywords. Most important in the technique of SEO for PDF = Metadata If you create PDF files with Adobe Acrobat Professional, then you need to fill in Title, Author, Subject, Keyword, and Description of your PDF document. With Adobe Acrobat Professional, metadata for the PDF can be set via the menu File -> Document Properties. Click on Additional Description Metadata to fill.
